Overview
The Institute of Architectural Structure at Northeast Forestry University was established in May 2011 as a university-level research platform, relying on the College of Civil Engineering. The institute leverages its research innovation and engineering technology development advantages, emphasizing transforming and promoting research results. It also addresses specific problems enterprises encounter during production through applied research projects, benefiting businesses and society and enhancing the university’s reputation and influence. The institute has 15 staff members, including four professors, eight associate professors, and one senior engineer. Among the staff, 80% hold doctoral degrees.
Research Directions
The Institute of Architectural Structure is based on the civil engineering program and structural engineering discipline, conducting research in the following areas:
Research Direction 1: Prestressed Concrete Structures
Research Direction 2: Steel Structures and Composite Structures
Research Direction 3: Innovative Prefabricated Bamboo and Wood Structures
Research Direction 4: Earthquake Resistance and Reinforcement/Modification of Engineering Structures
The institute leads five national-level projects and provides technical consulting and services for national-level projects, including the National Broadcasting Center and the National Swimming Center. Each year, the institute trains over 50 graduate students in relevant fields.
