The College offers seven undergraduate programs: Civil Engineering, Transportation, Traffic Engineering, Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering, Logistics Engineering, Engineering Management, and Intelligent Construction and Smart Transportation. Five are national-level first-class undergraduate programs, one is a provincial-level first-class undergraduate program, and one is a new engineering major developed as part of the university’s first batch of upgrades.

The Civil Engineering program was initially established in 1958 as the Forest Road Engineering program at Northeast Forestry University. After over 60 years of development, it has three major directions: Road and Bridge Engineering, Building Engineering, Geotechnical and Underground Engineering. The program has passed the civil engineering accreditation review (reassessment). It is a national-level first-class undergraduate program, a pilot program for the Ministry of Education’s “Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan,” and a key provincial construction program in Heilongjiang Province.

The Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering program was founded in 2000 and is now a national-level first-class undergraduate program. It passed the re-evaluation for the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development’s undergraduate accreditation. The faculty adheres to a production, learning, and research integrated approach, focusing on developing students’ practical abilities, and has formed its unique educational characteristics and corresponding scale. The program has 12 teachers, including one professor, five associate professors (senior engineers), and six lecturers (engineers). The faculty possesses a solid theoretical foundation, a high academic level, and rich practical engineering experience in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.

The Engineering Management program admitted associate degree students in 1991 and undergraduate students in 2001. In June 2012, it merged with the university’s International Engineering Management program. In 2018, the program signed a cooperative education agreement with Aston University in the UK, making it the only program in Heilongjiang Province and one of seven national cooperative engineering management programs. After over 30 years of development, it is now a first-class undergraduate program in Heilongjiang Province. The program has 18 faculty members, including three professors, 10 associate professors (including senior engineers), and 11 doctoral degree holders. It also has one Chinese Association for Science and Technology’s Youth Science and Technology Leadership member and one high-level talent from Heilongjiang Province.

The Transportation program focuses on serving the “Building a Strong Transportation Nation” strategy, based in Northeast China and oriented toward the whole country. It integrates the advantages of forestry and related industries, focusing on road transportation. The program aims to cultivate high-quality students with a scientific spirit, academic potential, innovation ability, and well-rounded development to create a nationally first-class program with low-carbon transportation features, aligned with the university’s positioning and serving the region and industry. The program has a postdoctoral research station in Transportation Engineering, a first-class doctoral program in Transportation Engineering, and master’s degree programs in Transportation Engineering, Logistics Engineering and Management. It also features a National Vehicle Accident Deep Investigation Workstation and the Heilongjiang Provincial Cold Region Road Transportation Technology Research Key Laboratory. The program has produced many well-rounded road transportation professionals through large-scale admissions and the collaborative industry-academic-research education model, making significant contributions to national and local transportation infrastructure and economic development.

The Traffic Engineering program was founded in 1999, approved as a key provincial program in Heilongjiang in 2012, and accredited by the engineering education certification in 2019. It is now a national-level first-class undergraduate program. Relying on the doctoral and master’s authorization points of the first-level discipline of Transportation Engineering, the postdoctoral research station, and the professional degree category of Transportation Engineering, this program can achieve an integrated training system for bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees.

The Logistics Engineering program was approved by the Ministry of Education in 2005, and in 2019, it was evaluated as a first-class undergraduate program in Heilongjiang Province. It was further recognized as a national-level first-class undergraduate program in 2022 and was discontinued in 2024. The program offers a professional master’s degree in “Logistics Engineering and Management.” The program has developed four distinctive research directions: logistics big data processing methods and applications, intelligent logistics for forest products, internet of things technology and logistics equipment, and supply chain management and optimization.

The Intelligent Construction and Smart Transportation program was developed in response to national strategic needs, industry transformation, and upgrading. It is a new engineering discipline based on civil engineering and transportation engineering that deeply integrates digitalization, information, and intelligence. It combines advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data, digital twins, and the Internet of Things.
