Program Introduction of Software Engineering

DATE:2025-04-25AUTHOR: VIEW:

The Software Engineering program is oriented towards the demands of the IT industry, cultivating professionals with well-rounded professionalism and ethics. It emphasizes mastery of fundamental theories and specialized knowledge, equipping students with software analysis, design, development, testing, and management capabilities. The program focuses on developing strong engineering practical abilities, technological innovation capabilities, and team spirit while fostering senior software engineers who can adapt swiftly to new technological advancements in software engineering and demonstrate international perspective and competitiveness. The program implements a flexible “2-1-1” talent development model (comprising two years of foundational education, one year of enterprise-oriented specialized education, and one year of corporate internship). The curriculum emphasizes problem-based, project-driven, and case-study learning methodologies. A collaborative enterprise-university “dual-mentor system” is adopted for practice-intensive courses, supplemented by innovation practice activities and technology competitions for university students, collectively forming an educational framework that highlights engineering-oriented cultivation.

The faculty team employs a dual-track employment mechanism integrating full-time and part-time staff. There are 10 full-time teachers, 7 with senior professional titles, and three lecturers. The faculty comprises 7 Ph.D. holders and 3 Master’s degree holders, with six members possessing overseas study or visiting scholar experience. One faculty member has been awarded the“Heilongjiang Provincial Teaching Master”and“Northeast Forestry University’s Chengdong Teaching Master”honorary titles. Additionally, the program engages adjunct faculty from renowned domestic and international software enterprises and universities to supplement teaching activities.Faculty members have led or participated in national, provincial, ministerial, municipal, and university-level vertical/horizontal scientific research and pedagogical projects. Notable achievements include:

- National Second Prize for Teaching Achievements

- Provincial Second Prize for Teaching Achievements

- Provincial Second Prize for Excellent Higher Education Research Outcomes

- Provincial Second and Third Prizes for Scientific & Technological Progress

- Provincial Third Prize for Outstanding Multimedia Teaching Software

- Municipal First Prize for Scientific & Technological Progress

- Third Prize for Heilongjiang Higher Education Association's 11th Five-Year Plan Research Project

The faculty has obtained over 10 invention and utility model patents and more than 20 software copyrights. Collectively, they have edited or co-edited over 20 published textbooks and authored more than 200 research papers indexed in SCI, EI, and Chinese core journals.

The Software Engineering Comprehensive Laboratory serves the course experiments and innovation and entrepreneurship projects of the program, cultivating students' software project management and development competencies through system development internships and practical training. It comprises four specialized laboratories: the Software Engineering Laboratory (System Development Training Base), Embedded Technology Laboratory, Mobile Development Laboratory, and IOS Development Laboratory. This facility primarily supports experiments for courses including Rational Unified Process and testing based on industry standards and technologies, Software Architecture, Object-Oriented Technology and UML, Software Requirements and Analysis, Software Testing and Quality Assurance, and Mobile Development and IOS Development. Additionally, the laboratory has established university-enterprise cooperative internship and training bases through collaboration with national-level large-scale software enterprises. Leveraging corporate projects, expert instructors, and professional environments, it provides targeted engineering capability training to equip students with comprehensive problem-solving skills for addressing complex engineering challenges.

The major has currently established internship bases with Huawei, Yiyang Security, Neusoft, Huaxin, Beijing Siteqi, Boyan Jizhi, Jiangsu Lejian, Huayu (Dalian), Qingruan, Weiyang Technology, and others.
