Discipline construction. The school currently has doctoral programs in chemistry as a first-level discipline, doctoral programs in biology (plant biology) as a second-level discipline, master's programs in pharmacy as a first-level discipline, and two professional master's programs in materials and chemical engineering (chemical engineering field) and pharmacy. In recent years, the level of discipline in construction at the school has continued to rise. In 2022, the discipline of chemistry will enter the ESI world at a rate of 4.8 ‰, and in 2023, it will be approved as a postdoctoral research station in chemistry; The doctoral program in plant biology was selected as one of the first national key disciplines in China in 1989; Pharmacognosy, a key discipline under the pharmacy discipline, is recognized by Heilongjiang Province and the State Forestry Administration as a master's degree program in pharmacy in 2022. The above disciplines provide strong support for constructing the two "Double First Class" disciplines of forestry and forestry engineering, and have become essential growth points for emerging interdisciplinary disciplines at Northeast Forestry University.

Platform construction. The school currently has one national level scientific research platform - the "National Local Joint Engineering Laboratory for Ecological Utilization of Biological Resources", two research platforms directly under the Ministry of Education, including the "Key Laboratory of Forest Plant Ecology of the Ministry of Education" and the "Forestry Biopharmaceutical Engineering Research Center", and three provincial level scientific research platforms, including the Key Laboratory of Flame Retardant Material Molecular Design and Preparation in Heilongjiang Province, the Collaborative Innovation Center for Under Forest Economy in Heilongjiang Province, and the Key Laboratory of Ecological Utilization of Forest Source Active Substances in Heilongjiang Province. In addition, there are two provincial-level international joint laboratories, 1 Heilongjiang Province Chemical Experiment Teaching Demonstration Center, and one university-level large-scale instrument platform.

Scientific research. Since its establishment, the school has undertaken over 300 longitudinal research projects, including more than 60 national key research and development projects, major, general, and youth projects funded by the Natural Science Foundation of China. The school has also undertaken over 130 horizontal scientific research projects, including 15 contracts with funding exceeding one million yuan. The school has accumulated a total of 110 million yuan in research funding. He has published over 900 papers, including over 50 top-tier journals such as Nature Communications, AngewandteChemie International Edition, Advanced Materials, and Plant Cell. Published 15 works of various types, obtained more than 80 authorized invention patents, and received more than 10 awards at the ministerial, provincial, and municipal levels. Representative awards include: 1 second prize in natural science from the Ministry of Education (2019), one first prize in forestry science and technology from Liangxi (2020), 1 second prize in scientific and technological progress from Heilongjiang Province (2020), 1 second prize in technological invention from Heilongjiang Province (2021), and 3 second prizes in forestry science and technology from Liangxi (2021, 2022, 2024).
