Authorized by the State Council Academic Degree Committee in 2010, the MTI program is guided by contemporary translation theory. It aims to equip students with comprehensive knowledge of translation theory, methods, and techniques, cultivating their translation practice abilities and laying a strong foundation for future teaching, research, and translation careers. The MTI program offers three specializations: English Translation, English Interpreting, and Russian Translation.
English Translation (055101):
This program features forestry technology translation, training students to adapt and innovate in multi-disciplinary translation practice. The curriculum emphasizes high-quality written translation between Chinese and English through coursework and practical training.
English Interpretation (055102):
This program focuses on developing students’ tourism and business interpreting skills. Students are trained to gain a deep understanding of the cultural thinking patterns behind language and master consecutive interpreting techniques.
Russian Translation (055103):
This specialization emphasizes practical translation, aiming to cultivate professionals with solid theoretical knowledge and high translation skills. The graduates can perform written translation work in various fields, including trade, technology, forestry, tourism, journalism, and literature.
