In 2023, Northeast Forestry University applied to offer an undergraduate program in Marxist theory and received approval. In 2024, the School of Marxism at Northeast Forestry University will begin admitting undergraduate students. As a result, the integrated training model for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programs in Marxist theory has officially taken shape.

The undergraduate program in Marxist Theory is committed to cultivating advanced specialized talents with firm Marxist and socialist beliefs, familiar with classic Marxist works and essential literature on Marxism with Chinese characteristics and modern times, possessing a profound theoretical foundation and professional knowledge of Marxism, able to effectively apply Marxist positions, viewpoints, and methods to study and analyze real social problems, and capable of conducting theoretical research, education, teaching, propaganda, and other work related to this discipline.

The undergraduate program in Marxist theory aligns with the principles of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. Under the strong leadership of the school and college party committees, it thoroughly examines the ecological civilization education features and strengths of forestry universities, draws upon the doctoral program in Marxist theory as a first-level discipline, continually enhances its connotation, and promotes the seamless integration of Marxist theory education and teaching reform with ecological civilization education. It actively establishes a new model of“ideological and political red + ecological green”education, gradually developing a system of teaching, scientific research, and social service characterized by typical ecological civilization elements, to cultivate well-rounded talents who possess solid theoretical knowledge and distinctive traits.

The undergraduate program of Marxist theory has a strong faculty, with 37 full-time teachers, including 13 professors, 15 associate professors, seven lecturers, and two teaching assistants. A high-quality scientific research and teaching platform is a massive support for constructing Marxist theory programs. There are three provincial-level scientific research bases, four departmental anduniversity-level research platforms, one national university ideological and political education master studio, and four Heilongjiang Province ideological and political education master studios. The curriculum of undergraduate programs in Marxist theory reflects both the generality of professional development and the characteristics and advantages of Northeast Forestry University.

The undergraduate program in Marxist theory mainly aims to cultivate composite and innovative talents who can conduct scientific research, teaching, and management in various party and government organs, enterprises, institutions, schools, and social service institutions. They can also continue to pursue master’s or doctoral studies.
