Established in alignment with the Guidelines for the Construction of Future Technology College (Trial) issued by the Ministry of Education in 2020, the Future Technology College of NEFU proactively addresses the intelligent and diversified development trends in the future forestry sector. It aims to promote the sustainable and comprehensive development of distinctive and advantageous disciplines, bolster the university’s "Double First-Class" initiative, and officially commence enrollment in 2024 after its preparatory phase in 2023.
Guided by the mission of "interdisciplinary integration of disciplines and convergence of education, science, and industry", the college adheres to the educational philosophy of "interest-driven learning, interdisciplinary convergence, innovation leadership, and unity of knowledge and practice", with a talent cultivation focus on "solid foundational knowledge, broad disciplinary perspectives, deep interdisciplinary collaboration, strong innovation capabilities, and emphasis on practical application". Leveraging NEFU’s national "Double First-Class" disciplines, leading distinctive disciplines, and high-quality faculty resources, the college spearheads reforms in cultivating top-notch innovative talents and establishes a collaborative education system to serve national strategies. By addressing the technological frontiers and significant demands of future forestry, the college strengthens the development of forestry-carbon neutrality interdisciplinary disciplines and pursues forward-looking, landmark innovations. It aims to cultivate scientific and technological innovation leaders capable of advancing China’s new quality productive forces and the "Dual Carbon" strategy, positioning itself as a demonstration zone for talent cultivation, a testing ground for policy reforms, and an optimized hub for resource allocation.
