(1)Program Overview
This program is dedicated to cultivating highly qualified, ethically grounded, and versatile professionals with a strong academic foundation, solid laboratory skills, and an international perspective. Graduates are equipped to engage in scientific research, technological development, and production management across various life science-related industries. Graduates can pursue scientific research or education careers at domestic and international research institutions and universities. They are also well-prepared for roles involving basic and applied research, technological innovation and promotion, production management, and industry operations in forestry, agriculture, industry, environmental protection, pharmaceuticals, and food sciences. The program spans four years and confers a Bachelor of Science degree. Exceptional students may be directly recommended for master’s or doctoral studies without entrance examinations. The discipline is authorized to grant both master’s and doctoral degrees.

This program is designed to cultivate well-rounded professionals demonstrating coordinated moral character, knowledge, skills, and overall competence development. Students will acquire a solid grounding in the fundamental theories, essential knowledge, and practical skills of life sciences and technology, with the ability to apply them flexibly. The program emphasizes a strong humanistic foundation, professional ethics, teamwork, and an entrepreneurial spirit. It prepares students for further academic advancement. Graduates will be equipped to engage in theoretical research, applied research, technological innovation, and management across the forestry sector and other life science-related industries.

Fundamental Core Courses: Introduction to Biotechnology, Zoology, Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, Inorganic and Analytical ChemistryExperiment, Advanced Mathematics B, Organic Chemistry B, Organic Chemistry Experiment, Botany, Biochemistry A, Biochemistry Experiment A, Microbiology, Genetics, Molecular Biology (Bilingual), Molecular Biology Laboratory, Cell Biology, and English for Biotechnology.
Specialized Core Courses: Plant Physiology, Virology, Principles and Techniques of Genetic Engineering, Principles and Techniques of Fermentation Engineering, Plant Epigenetics, Principles and Techniques of Plant Cell Engineering, Synthetic Biology, and Principles and Techniques of Biopharmaceuticals.
Key Practical Training Modules:
The program includes compulsory practical modules such as laboratory courses, fieldwork in Zoology, Botany, and Microbiology, integrated molecular biology technical training, and completion of a graduation thesis. Additional elective training opportunities are available in scientific research practice, fermentation engineering, biopharmaceuticals, cell culture, and antibody engineering.
