Overview of the Programs at the College of Computer and Control Engineering

The college has three undergraduate programs in computer, Electrical, and electronic information; 2 in Data Science and Big Data Technology and Artificial intelligence; and 2 in computer science and technology and software engineering. The electrical program includes two undergraduate programs: Electrical Engineering and automation. Electronic information includes two undergraduate programs: Electronic Information Engineering and Communication Engineering. The training method of primary enrollment is general education in the first 3 semesters and training according to professional classification from the fourth semester. Computer Science and Technology, automation, Electrical engineering and automation are national first-class undergraduate programs. Automation, Computer Science and Technology, Electrical Engineering and its automation, Communication Engineering, and Software Engineering through the engineering education professional certification. Software engineering, communication engineering, and electronic information engineering are provincial first-class undergraduate programs.

The college has established a comprehensive innovation and entrepreneurship management mechanism, forming instructor and management teams for student innovation projects. Leveraging the guidance of technological competitions continuously enhances students’ innovative awareness and capabilities. Since participating in ACM programming contests in 2004, the college achieved a bronze medal at the Asian Regional Competition in 2008, a silver medal in 2013, and secured two gold medals in 2019, epitomizing "15 years of dedicated effort." In 2020, its team won the national gold award at the Challenge Cup Finals and a national silver award at the Internet+ Innovation Competition in 2021. In 2023, the college claimed national first prizes at the China Intelligent Robot Combat & Competition Championships and the RoboCup China Open. In 2024, it earned another national first prize at the 17th iCAN University Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Undergraduates have accumulated over 2,000 provincial-level and 900 national-level awards in scientific competitions. More than 70% of students have benefited from these extracurricular programs, demonstrating exceptional competitiveness in career placement and graduate admissions. The graduate employment and further education rate has consistently remained above 90%, with 28.45% enrolling in "985"/"211" institutions, research academies, or overseas graduate programs. Career placements primarily focus on software engineering roles at large-to-medium IT enterprises, with 20% of graduates securing positions at leading companies such as Baidu, NetEase, JD.com, 58.com, Meituan, Alibaba, and Guazi Used Car. Approximately 90% of graduates work in first-tier cities at the sub-provincial level or above.
